Teaching Artists Training Institute @ YAMA
The Teaching Artists Training Institute believes that transformational music education starts with transformational training for music teachers.
Founded by a generous grant from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, the Teaching Artists Training Institute (TATI) was launched in 2020. In just three years, TATI has engaged more than 230 Teaching Artists across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada through virtual programming and in-person Regional Conferences.
Regional Practicums are an exceptional opportunity for hands-on professional development, intentionally designed for Teaching Artists working in after-school and community-embedded settings, and we are delighted to announce that the Pacific Northwest TATI Practicum will take place at our YAMA site on March 26 and 27.
These workshops are deeply rooted in the realities of community music work, addressing classroom management outside of the school day, navigating varied student needs, building strong relationships with families and communities, and balancing artistic excellence with accessibility and care.
