There are many opportunities available for high school students, especially seniors, as they prepare for their next steps beyond graduation.

Here, you’ll find scholarships, internships, summer intensives, and other enriching programs designed to support your growth and help you navigate what comes after YAMA.

Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships for students planning to attend Yakima Valley College.

Long Island University

Scholarships

Students from D'Addario Foundation grantee programs worldwide who plan to pursue any major can receive an application fee waiver and be considered for merit scholarships valued at approx. $40,000 per year from LIU Post, Brookyln, or Global (study abroad) program.

 Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis.

Interested students must submit an inquiry form.

Leadership Opportunities

Washington World Fellows

The Washington World Fellows is a 2.5-year program that cultivates global leadership and future success in young Washingtonians by providing access to unique academic, cultural, and leadership opportunities through a five week study abroad in Spain and step-by-step career preparation. 

Since 2022, Washington World Fellows program participants and alumni have earned over $1.4 million in grants and scholarships! 

Open to current sophomores only.

Boundless Washington

Boundless Washington is a grant-based program dedicated to expanding access to sports and outdoor activities for youth with disabilities across Washington State. In addition to pursuing their chosen activities, participants also take part in the WSLB Leadership Development Curriculum.

Open to all high school-aged youth.

YOLA National Festival

The YOLA National Festival is an intensive summer orchestra program dedicated to artistic development for young musicians from El Sistema-inspired and community-driven music programs across the United States.

  • Musicians will convene in Los Angeles for over a week of learning with the festival’s amazing faculty and guest artists and performances with world-renowned conductors.

  • Participation is free—travel, lodging, meals, and programming are provided to musicians at no cost.

  • The festival’s purpose is to provide the highest caliber of orchestral training, artistry, and musical excellence through community, serving youth with fewest resources and highest need. 

YOLA National Festival Dates: August 3–11, 2026

The 2026 YOLA National Festival will feature two programs consisting of the Symphony Orchestra Program for musicians ages 14–18 and the Overture Chamber Music Program* for musicians ages 12–14.

Priority deadline is March 2, 2026, and final deadline is March 9, 2026.
