2026 Ensemble Resolutions

With one semester working together under our belts, each of our YAMA ensembles are excited about what the spring will hold. We’ve revisited our goals from October and have a few new milestones that we will target.

Preludio

In October, Preludio wanted to spend the fall focusing on some ensemble basics — keeping tempo, counting rhythms, and moving together as a group.

In the new year, Preludio intends to start playing together with bows and starting their note- reading journey with the D Major scale!

Chamber

Chamber spent the fall learning how to break down music to turn them into manageable pieces to sight-read. With newfound skills and confidence related to reading music in chunks, they plan on venturing into new territory with more challenging repertoire with full songs.

Combo

Combo focused on working in a minor key and 3/4 time in the fall, which were new concepts for many in the ensemble. In the springtime, they hope to expand their repertoire and tackle several new pieces.

Philharmonia

Philharmonia is used to playing music that demonstrates a higher level of technical skill and sightreading. In the springtime, they plan on focusing on what confidence as a player means and all the implicit skills it takes to play more like a chamber group, such as breathing and communicating across the group.

We’re excited to see what the spring holds for each of our ensembles!
