Aurora Albright

Aurora Albright [she/her]

My name is Aurora Albright and I am a Double Bass Teaching Artist at YAMA. Currently, I am studying music education and double bass performance at Central Washington University. Music has always been a place for me to find community growing up. While I was both a choir kid through elementary school and technically a violinist (for two weeks), I found bass when I turned 12 and have never looked back.  

Growing up, my music teachers were the people I looked up to the most in school. My music classes were always what I was most excited about- with sharing fun music, making friends, building a community, and discovering who I am. Music is embedded into the human experience. I want to help students be compassionate and empathic for not only themselves, but to one another and to the people they interact with for the rest of their lives through a shared love of music. After looking up to all the music educators in my life, I hope to foster the same safe and supportive environments they provided me. 

Outside of music-making, you’ll find me spending time with friends and family or staying in to do various crafts with my cats, Loona and Tuna.

I am so excited to gain new knowledge as an educator and share music with everyone at YAMA!
